[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Old City Hall in Toronto was begun in 1889 and completed in 1899. Toronto's third City Hall, it was saved from demolition by pressure from the Friends of Old City Hall when the new city hall opened across the street in 1965. It now houses courts for the Government of Ontario.

I consider it one of the most beautiful public buildings in Toronto.

I haven't figured out how to make the colour like it appears in Photoshop CS2, so it's a little off.

Hello Robbin,
Very beautiful colours and good composition.
Nice with the dark foreground and with the shadow (or the reflection) of the tower on the big building.
Greetings, Paul

very nice capture, nice color

Robbin
Belle opposition de style entre les deux architectures! Jolie composition, très lumineuse.

Hi Robbin, very nice contrasts seen in this shot between the old and "new" city hall. The colour and architectural differences are really apparent in this shot of yours. Your composition works well with the placement of the old tower up against the glass of the new. I'm not sure what colour you've lost in this shot. It looks good from here. There are a couple of tips in the general forum though that you might look at. As well, since I see you use CS2 I thought I'd run a little workshop and show you a tip I learned on vertical perspectives.

Thanks, John

Hi Robbin,

this is a nice contrast that we usually see in Northamerica. old buildings against steel+glass skyscrapers!

well...they are pretty different but they go together as well!

ciao
Silvio

yes, it is a marvelous building. Sometimes I can't understand what some people from government thinks about this. I think they think past is garbage and it is necessary to put down what was up. I am happy we can see this building today. I liked your photo, it is very interesting cause the contrast, modern and past, greyish and golden. nice light and pov. TFS

I like the idea of old and new contrast.
