Hi Way!
Excellent composition with the low horizon,the lonely tree and the gazelle.What a pitty that the tree is cut at the left side.

Very beautiful picture with this tree and this gazelle.
I like very much your photo, but why didn't you turn the camera just a little bit on your left side to catch the whole tree. And for the animal it would be better too

Hi Way,
The position of the tree is probably a matter of taste! As far as I am concerned, I also prefer the version with the whole tree. Perhaps you could crop the photo on the left, so the tree would not be in the exact center, but without cuting it.
A compromise between your main post and your WS would be absolutely perfect :-)
Effectively, it is a great moment you share with us, with this gazelle appearing at the right moment!

I really love how much sky you stretched into the picture.

Hi Way, I like this one better. Very simple but very effective composition with this tree and the (is it an) Impala. The profile in colour between the grass and the sky too was a very good choice for this shot. I played a bit with chopping some sky, but I think you made the right choice here. The large sky makes the whole scene, and country seem larger.

Sabidy Way, I totally agree with Leo and I prefer your version in WS. It's not too central and besides it's balancing with the gazelle. Well, maybe I would give a bit more space to the right and less to the left, but that's a small detail. I also like to see more golden FG and the pp that you applied, making it a brighter and more attractive image. Beautiful 1 + 1 scene.

There are many wonderful photos on TE but often it is difficult to find them. I saw your answer to my question about Lao cakes. Wonderful picture of Serengeti. My dream is to go to black Africa one day but I haven't the courage yet.

What a cool image. A lone tree against the overcast grayish cloudy sky created such a very simple but beautiful composition. The little antelope adds wildlife element to the simple landscape. The low POV works great so the tree is nicely constrasts against the sky. The way you show more sky instead of more foreground makes it feel even more open and free.
Another really good one out of Africa.

This one almost reminded me of my lonely trees. You know, in a way, the south of Portugal sometimes reminds us of Africa. The composition is good with the impala on the right side and the lonely tree on the left. The one in the workshop is great because of the tree that is complete, but I like this one.

first of all let me say congratulations for your beautiful gallery! full of interesting shots..like this one for example; this is the kind of shot I'd like to take. Serengeti is on top of my wish list and I hope to have the chance to get there in the near future.
The compo speaks for itself, with the big acacia dominating the scene, with the gazella balancing the compo. Quality seems to be very good throughout, with a good light management and exposure. I like it a lot!

i've missed this beauty you have posted a while ago. wow... i love the scene. with the little deer staring at the the huge tree. i do like the workshop version better. i wish i could combine the two though: giving the deer a little of the space you have allowed here (on the right side of the deer) and getting the whole tree in as in the workshop.

both are fantastic nature shots though.

Another wonderful photo from the savana in Tanzania! I find it perfect and not too centred.
The colours are very harmonious, the little gazelle is a very good contrast with the large tree and the immensity of the savanna that we can easily guess from your photo. I prefer the original.
