[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
This photo shows you a view of the sanatorium building, built in 1930 in the ownership of the castle of Franconville-aux-Bois.
With this dark treatment, I should to illustrate the disturbing side of this building. Just as today because it’s completely abandoned, and in the time where it was on duty because of the feeling that the patients would feel when they were admitted in.
The building in the back is the castle of Franconville-aux-Bois.
For more information on the history of this place, I invite you to see my last photo accompanying note named: Abandon.

I post a new version in the workshop in response to various opinion - my favorite in the end.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

I like the point of view here. Having the front of the building extend to the background sort of adds a feeling of time and foreboding to the photograph.....as in "if you're a patient here, you can expect to spend a long time in this place..."...and yes, the dark skies add to this feeling.

Great work!!

Hi Damien,
Wow, what a nice stormy sky ! This place looks strange and the feeling. I understand because your note is talking about an abandonned place...
Christophe

Bonjour Damien,

Salut, Jordi

The mood you were aiming for has worked well, as the darkness increases as we go further into the frame. The dramatic sky adds to the atmosphere. Good work
Kath

Well processed and composed image. Nice dramatica clouds. Interesting how the lighting brightens outward from distant building corner.

Hi Damien,
Great POV and perspective..Very dramatic sky.TFS.
Bonne journée,

hAyAti

Hello Damien. I like the sky putting the building in excellent perspective making this a stunning shot. The hue on the grass indicating that the storm is coming. Regards. Jusni

Impressionnant !
Vraiment j'aime beaucoup...
A plus...

I like the mood created by the clouds, Damien, so fitting for an old sanitorium building. It's not a happy place, and it doesn't look like one. The subdued saturation looks good too. I do think you need to level the "horizon" which in this case means the base of the farthest buildings. Regards, Ken.

Bonjour Damien,

Damien, this rundown building has a real threatening atmosphere. The postprocessing very well emphasizes it, but I think it is not necessary, because the real case is also really frustrating, and the absolutely well chosen POV makes a really good compo to help feeling this special atmosphere. Many thanks for sharing, Jalab

Salut Damien,
Quel endroit lugubre!
