Photographer’s Note

Another view of the downtown buildings. You can easly see the "smog" from the high polution. The contrast between the smog and the blue skies above is amazing, it's asphixiating. If I lived in this area I would want a pair of wings so I could go up from time to time to breed some fresh air.

Great colours Miguel. Very good proportion of big sky and lined town. Even a smog above the town is here a beautiful. Great compo. Bravo.

I like the proportions between the dense, dark, smoggy area below and the wide, airy, fresh air above. It's hard to believe the contrast in such a shallow layer of air. I also like the "mare's tails" of the cirrus clouds -- it's just a bit reminiscent of Van Gogh's A Starry Night painting -- my favorite of his.

It is hard to beleive that something as unplesant as smog can be so beautifull. It is easy to be fooled if you don't know it is actually polution that you are looking at. On the other hand...being there, then you are not fooled anymore. This is really a great shot Miguel It is beautifull, the city shape , the smog and the sky. Amazing capture.

Beautiful clouds! I like the composition with the large buildings made small and the focus on the sky. Great contrast and colors.

An impressive sky Miguel! You are very lucky to have a clear view of the downtown of Los Angeles. The pictures of the downtown that I took, are invaded by the smog. I like very much the purple tone of the sky, it is splendid.

Look at this feathery clouds.
It is amazing if you imagine that the blue sky was once also over the city without the grey-orange smog layer.
