One of the minarets of the mosque in Damascus seen through a roman arch at the end of the great souk.The arch was once the entrance for the roman temple to Jupiter,The mosque was originaly an enormous christian church built in crusader times on(and with)the ruins of the original roman temple,and contains the tomb of St Paul.3000 years ago there was a Aramean temple to the god Hadad on this sight.
