Photographers Note
The village of Atrani, which is around the bend from Amalfi. Late afternoon light. The road between Salerno and Positano is very scenic and fun to drive... until a huge bus is encountered coming in the opposite direction. Surprisingly there is only a single other photo so far posted from Atrani on TE.
Lee systems 0.6 ND grad soft edge filter used.
The lower left corner is blurred because I removed an ugly concrete block which I could not avoid including in the frame.

Salam Tan
The sun looks not so strong and that's give very nice lights.
I note also a vey good exposure balance with the shades.
I have done a WS with a difficult correction of the blurred corner.
Cheers.

Wow, it seems to be a very pleasant place. Your picture is clear, sharp and very contrasting with a very good composition. I wouldn't notice the blurred corner if you hadn't told us.

Merhaba Tan,
Maalesef, National Geographic Books' basicagi kitapda sizin verdiginiz (Amboise) fotografini kullanamiyacagiz. NGS kendi resimleri varmis, fakat çok tesekkür ederim verdiginiz müsadeye.
Selam ve saygilar,
Bülent

Good to see post some shots these days Tan. I kind of missed those clean landscapes.
I like how the shot is divided in two with the light and shadows zones. The soft color tones of the buildings are nice.
Didi had a good idea with the left corner. The job is not perfect, but it is definitely something you could consider doing.
The grad filter is visible, but I kind of like the darker upper part of the sky.
cheers!

Curiously, I only noticed the blur after reading the note. So, it is not that bad. Otherwise, it is a very nice picture of a wonderful place. Well done.

Hi Tan... We went to this part of Italy in 2006 but we cant stop in this village because it was full of cars with tourist like ourself. I love this POV, not very usual to portrait one of the nicest areas of the world (of course by the mediterranean, where else?). Take care.

I'm not sure about the aspect ratio of this one but the composition is very pleasing otherwise. Your timing in capturing the wave was very good. Seems like you cropped the right-hand side, because the upper left corner looks soft, am I right? I would consider cropping the bottom to remove the blurred area (aka the ugly concrete). The use of two-stop neutral grad filter is obvious, the darkening in the sky looks unnatural. I don't think it was needed here anyway. Regards,
Hakan

Hi Tan,
I like your crop, the tight framing which includes the foreground and the mountain in the back gives the picture a good balance. You could put more warm light on the buildings, but have to admit this also does not look bad a t all.
The bottom section does not disturb me because it's easy to fix.
Nice work, very powerful composed and framed.

HI Tan,
Man, you realy can choose your POV, This is another fantastic one. Great light and composition. Good broad foreground with the typical vulcanic black sand.
Great work.

p.s. Is Amafia just a whriting mistake (Amalfia) or referring to the Mafia (that here is called Chomorra)

Hi Tan
The filter here gives a subtle and natural enhancement and the square format suits well the subject to give a wonderful sense of space. A really magnificent Italian scene.

Hello Tan.
Very fine shot from a well chosen viewpoint. You have used the natural curve of the shoreline and the line of the viaduct to create a strong perspective, enhanced by the second headland in the background, giving the shot depth and filling out the right side of the horizon. The white foam along the shore leads the eye, and the town's remarkable buildings emerge into the sunlight to stunning effect. I can see how cropping instead of cloning the intrusive block of concrete would have destroyed the curve of the wave at that point, so it was a good choice.
I am intrigued by the possibility of using a ND filter together with a CP filter. Anyway, the result is marvellous.
Regards,
Andrew

Great shot! I like the foreground especially, with the delicate curve of the shore, and the nice reflection off the wet sand. This seems to give the photo a huge feelig of depth or three dimensions. Beautiful!

Bonjour,

Hi Tan!
Looks like you were standing on a ladder...
Great POV and wonderful light at this part of the village.
Great depth ,caused by this little foaming wave.

Ciao Tan
Mi fa piacere che un gran fotografo giramondo come te sappia apprezzare anche i nostri paesaggi. Questa ad esempio offre un buon POV, e una buona profondità, bellissimo il mare e la montagna, ombrata dalle nuvole, sul fondo.
Ciao, Nino.
