very crisp--- one can almost feel the lilypads. I would like it better without the green color change of the frame though-- to me it made the central part look weaker

Ver interesting subject, but your composition could be more precise. I see you didn't use a tripod. Perhaps that's why you didn't see the cut-off flower in the upper left, which detracts. Also, using a polarizing filter would tone down the glaring highlights on the leaves and deepen the colours in the flowers. I like the thin dark green frame, but the translucent wider "mat" is unnecessary and makes the centre of attention, which are the lilies, look overexposed. When you have a nice subject like this, don't try so hard. Just do it justice with good photography.
