Great capture ! Wonderfull pov and perfect compo. Amazing pastell colors.
A capture as simple as a Chinese ink painting but quite effectfull !

Splendid DOF John, and well composed with the cage in frame at the far side and the bird looking ionto the frame

I tried to take a similar picture in Xian, but with no satisfying results. What makes the shot here is the dof, with the lovely blurred background. A pity, though that the bird cage is so close to the edge of the frame, I'd have moved it a bit more to the center, but full green because you succeeded where I failed.

Hello John

What I find really striking here is the sheer lack of focus, the focus is put beautifully on the cage and the bird and that really puts the attention in one place. At the same time you have preserved enough of the background to let us imagine what might be there, this clearly isn't a lone cage...
I do however feel that the cage is placed a little too close to the left border of the photo, a little more air there would be great.
