[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Southern West Bengal is endowed with the most famous beach on the eastern coast of India – Digha. The beach town of Digha is famous all over for flat, hard beaches. Originally known as Beerkul, it is mentioned as the "Brighton of the East" in one of Warren Hasting's letters (1780 AD) to his wife.
In 1923, an English tourist John Frank Smith was charmed by the beauty of Digha and started living here. His writings about Digha slowly gave exposure to this place. After independence, he convinced West Bengal's chief minister Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy to develop Digha as a beach resort.
A small town, Digha is crowded with hotels generally around one main road. Its proximity to Calcutta (187 kms) attracts tourists throughout the year. Digha is a hard beach where one can drive during low tide. The beach is however facing the problem of sea erosion.
This photograph, taken at the sunrise shows the fishing activity there. Junput and Sankarpur are two well known places near Digha for such activities.

Hi Sumit,
Excellent composition with nice balace of colours. But the white border and the large caption are very disturbing here. You could have avoided that.

hi sumit,

wonderful pic. the sunrise effect is just brillantly captured

another day starts or ends??? these warm colours look like a sunset to me.
another perfect scene, many people disagree with sunsets, but I really don't understand why! Its the most romantic time of the day, and worth capturing.
the black silhouettes are perfect, and the orange colour fits like a glove

it reminds me my first post in TE

Well done

Regards
Stelios

Superbe lever de soleil aux couleurs chaudes et suaves. L'ambiance est fantastique avec ces pêcheurs mettant à l'eau leur bateau
