Photographer’s Note
The shot of this peak has taken somewhere between the fist viewpoint of Goechala and the last viewpoint of goechala. Set off in the early morning climbing the hill behind the Lake before traversing the moraine and then descending to the sandy bed of an empty lake. The whole area above Samiti Lake is called the Zemathang Plateau. Cross this under the shadow of Pandim and then ascend moraine to a height of about 15,700 feet where one can rest above a glaciated lake mottled with snow and icy pinnacles. The Goecha La Pass is another hour away. Traverse the lake and proceed across a slope, and then on a well-trodden path to the objective, which is festooned with brightly colored prayer flags. The views of the east flank of Khangchendzonga and the mountains and valleys in the distance are stunning.

Bonsoir Lopshang,
Cet endroit doit être encore plus magnifique que sur la photo, dommage que l'on ait pas la troisième dimension,en tout cas impressionnant et majestueux.

Hi Lopshang,
very impressive route if I may say so. I cannot possibly imagine going this way. Such sharp shapes with that small pointed peak at the top, looking sharper than shark's teeth. It is absolutely beautiful and overwhelming view, the view I always admire and have great respect for, but too scary to go closer. Thanks for sharing this fantastic mountain scenery.
Kind regards and lovely Sunday,
Jeri

Hi Lopshong,
Powerful mountains .. lovely blue and white .. the foreground layer of stone makes the image work for me .. It sets the scale and is echoed so nicely in the distant peak .. tremendous.
take care,
John

Hello Lopshang,
Beautiful mountains and glacier.
I think you have made some software corrections to the sky beacause the blue is not regular.
Best regards - Franco

Bonjour Lopshang,
Regards.
Daniel.

Gorgeous mountain scenery, as good as any I've seen from Nepal treks to the Everest Base Camp, I guess Sikkim is an equally rewarding trekking destination, but without the crowds.

Hello Lopshang
Very sweet of you to wish for the Bengali New Year. Yes I wish you the same for Poila Boisakh, even though you may not be celebrating, but good wishes are always good wishes, right?.
Superb picture here, so very clear & the exposure, especially on the snow, quite excellent. Very impressive against the deep blue sky.
With Regards
Angshu
