Photographer’s Note

I was on a visit to one of the villages in Punjab which happens to be the place where my Dad was born. The place still preserves its simplicity and lifestyle. Though people now have Phones/Satellite TV and even the internet, the only thing missing most of the time is the electricity which is supplied erratically almost 3 hrs a day.

Cattle House as it is known as is the darkest place in the house. The only light is the sunlight which lightens up the place weakly and the fan seen in the picture wonders when it will get the electric supply. Since, the most commonly domesticated cattle in Punjab is Buffaloes (which are not eaten there btw) and in most of the villages/house cattle house being the poorly lit up corner, the title justifies the picture.
