Photographer’s Note

It seemed as if the entire town had turned out to watch the river course past the bridge. I was shooting pictures of the people when a storeowner asked if I would come up and take pictures from his ledge. I jumped at the chance.

A wonderful vantage point, but the slippery ledge and rushing river below quickly convinced me of the folly of my decision. I snapped this and made my way back to solid ground.

I'm especially fond of this picture because of the comment it makes about the wonderful people of Nasik - the shopkeeper saw how excited I was to get some shots and went out of his way to allow me the run of his shop to get the picture I was looking for. He wasn't looking for any cash, just being nice to a obvious out-of-towner.
