This small Tibetian village is located on the border between Sichuan and Gansu (known also as a small Switzerland of Tibet altiplano), on the northeast edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
On the surrounding hills, there are traditional sites for sky burials.

Prior to 1950 it was in Amdo Region, Tibet.
After 1956 this side of the village became part of the China (Sichuan Province) - the Aba (Ngawa) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.
