Photographer’s Note

Lambs are usually the first signs of new life in spring!
Here, they can actually be born as early as December, and the births then happen until March!
I liked this picture taken at the local farmer's, of the two lambs who had just been born less than an hour before, of the white ewe! The black ewe is watching maternally too, while waiting her turn (see WS for that.)I liked the game of "hide and seek" with the dog.
She has got new responsibility now, but the young lambs are still wondering who this strange animal is of course. They'll soon learn!

Bonjour Marie-Louise,

J'aime beaucoup cette confrontation "amicale" ? entre le chien de berger et cette mère attentionnée... qui semble toutefois prête à foncer tête baissée. Eh oui tout ça sent le printemps qui arrive. Jolie scène animalière qui sent bon la campagne. La photo bonus est bien attendrissante... Je me suis permis un petit WS, j'espère que tu aimeras.

Bonjour Marie Louise
Très sympa cette scène de cache cache animal. L'arrivée de ces petits agneaux doit être une bon moment dans le troupeau.
De belles couleurs presque printanières, déjà. J'aurais bien aimé voir un peu plus du museau du chien qui doit avoir un bonne tête!!

L'image est attendrissante et intéressante. Les deux parties s'observent et se découvrent. Le chien enseigne déjà à ses nouveaux et jeunes sujets que c'est lui le maître, sous la surveillance et vigilance des parents. Belle image bien réalisée ainsi que les ws.

It's a lovely image, a kind of a fable "à là La Fontaine" in the form of a photo, with Papa and Mama lamb watching the discovery of the world of their babies (as far as I know, both adults are females, but the dark one can represent the role of father, can't her?).
It's a pity that the tree hides the nose tips of one of the lambs and of the dog. I suspect that you could have been more imaginative with the compo/POV, but that isn't easy in these quickly changing situations.
The WS's complete the little fable very nicely. I regret that both aren't very clear (nettes), which is a problem that I also sense with much less gravity in the main post. Maybe you could try to improve yourself in PP...

What a charming scene you have captured here with the new born sheep being checked out by the hard working dog. She is taking this event very seriously letting know the lambs who is boss around here. The wonderful moss covered tree is a great sign of spring and highlights the border collie very well. Greatl balanced composition with a very refreshing theme.

una bonita escena de la vida en el campo, me gusta ver estos dos pequeños corderos con su madre mirando cara a cara al bonito Border Collie, que parece vigilarlos como en un juego. El otro ejemplar de cabeza negra no se pierde ningún detalle.
Es una toma espontánea, simpática y llena de vida.

Un moment de vie des animaux bien expressif et aussi symbolique. Bonne nettete et couleurs naturelles.
Ah, au fait... yew c'est l'if (l'arbre) la brebis c'est 'ewe', une bizarrerie de la prononciation British!

En effet, Marie Louise, le chien semble conciliant (pour l'instant!).
Et l'arbre, fort bien situé sur une ligne de tiers, tient lieu de barrière suggérée entre le berger et les innocents!

Très intéressant de voir ces bébés et le chien qui se rencontrent probablement pour la première fois. Les oreilles levées du chien montrent sa réaction... deux de plus à garder ;-) C'est joli! La présence du tronc d'arbre fait une séparation très symbolique, disons.
