Photographer’s Note
It is actually more turquoise than blue I know, it just sounded nicer with this title :)) - I liked all the colours given by the artificial lights in this typical big Indian railway station (and did not modify the colours at all). There’s also an air of morosity here despite the colours, that is less present during the day…
Not a very original subject or photo and this is not my chosen type of photography, otherwise I would not stick to my small IXUS which still proved to work OK at ISO 100 if I leant firmly against something stable and did not breathe for a second. Lines inspired me here, but also all the passengers, moving or otherwise. (NB : also ISO 100 for the oxen cart posted 2 days ago, I just checked again).
I did not change the colours at all, but did a lot of adjustments in sharpening, then cloning out some halos and reducing a bit the noise with the blur tool (a minutious work and probably not the most efficient). Of course still not perfect ! As always, your technical advice is welcome.

Hi Cath,
The turquoise is attractive indeed. And before seeing your signature under it, i was already attracted to its strict geometry in the gallery. Very niceee :)

Salut Catherine
A good downward pov on the train, with excellent colour and sharpness. Superb use of diminishing linear perspective. Merci pour ce partage. Bon travail!

Hi,
Good capture!!I am someone who is really fascinated seeing anything related to Railways. This is a nice surprise.Leaving the original colour tone is a perfect idea.I just feel had you been two or three steps to your left side then the dark Blue liveried IR boggie would have been more visible and would have given a nice contrast to the overall composition. The station is clean which is typical of this part of the world.Like the clarity, sharpness and colours of your composition and moreover the presentation is very good here.As a train lover should mention something to you:nxt time around just be careful taking train shots inside a platform, coz it is illegal. It is fine as long as nobody asks you for a permission,we all do it this way,but if any policeman wants they can charge you.So, just be cautious!!
Greetings,
Dhurjati

Salut Catherine,

I'm not surprised you were attracted by the strong lines of this scene as they carry the eye to infinity. Your little camera has handled the light very well. I don't see any noise so your careful use of the blur tool must have been worth the effort. Good work

Any station in India is like a all universe, with so many kind of caracters that it´s impossible not to enjoy a visit, although it could be hard sometimes. I´not sure about the empty space to the left, but quite liking the line of the train and the people to the right.
Thanks!

Ciao Catherine!!

Hi Cath,
Nice capture! I am always fascinated by the scenes in a railway station. Journey can be so fascinating. Good thinking to capture the moment, just be careful though...in this world of growing terrorism, non-Indian nationals can get into trouble shooting bridges, airports or railway stations :)

Shaeri

Dear Cath,
It's very interesting to see this shot from Secunderabad. The colours are the highlight, that has the natural feel. The many train shots by Dhurjati is always a fascination, and one recently posted by Henk is stunning.
The diagonal composition creates the action well.
A tribute to the world's largest commercial network !!

Your India series is growing nicely, Cath, and here we see an unusual perspective. Color is lovely and I have no complaints about sharpening or other PP aspects. Regards,

Hi Catherine,
Good low light work.
Nothing much to pick.
This kind of photo brings me terrifying memories of my trip to India.... I took the wrong night train... instead of Jaisalmer, I took the one going to Delhi...
Someday I will tell you how I managed to reach Jaisalmer.
have a nice Sunday

Bonjour Catherine.
Amicalement.

Salut Catherine,
Pretty turquoise on the roof of the blue train, and people waiting for a train on the platform of the Secunderabad Railway Station attract my interest.
I have received warning from a policeman when trying to take a photo of train in New Delhi.
Have a nice day, Hisashi
