Photographer’s Note

A spring vernal pool full of lichen and these wierd shaped pothole rock formations. I was astonished at all the different colors of lichen in this scene. The scene might need a little warming.

Hello Steve -

This is very nice and serene. The saturated colors, the reflections, and the moody sky all make for a compelling image. This looks like a place where one can sit in peace and quite and enjoy the wilderness. All of the technicals seem to be right where the belong. Well done!

Where did you find this place? In the Sierra or along the coast.

wow, what a colorful and skillfull composition, especially the way you've dealt with the reflections and the curves. I do like the cold tones with make this scene even more surreal.

This is a excellent shot of the reflection, almost like a mirror, beautiful and natural colors, great sharpness and contrast. Good composition and the light is very well captured.

We would imagine in quoted by the easel of a painter on his color palette, so much certain orangy spots seem to have been put by the hand of the man there!

where the heck did you find this pool? Is this somewhere on the coast or at the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada. Marvelous blue impression with all the lichens garning the stone.
