Another of my scanned negatives from b/w film. Taken in the same area as my previous one, in a different season, here an early spring day last year, still rather cold and crisp, but with that blazing sun already hinting to the summer...

I have increased the contrast a bit, mainly in the upper part, to enhance that feeling of light.

Wimereux lies between Boulogne-sur-mer on the Côte d'Opale and the port of Calais, and the Channel Tunnel terminal and Boulogne-sur-mer on the Côte d’Opale. Nestling comfortably in a valley it offers those who know it, all the delights of good food and wine, an enviable beach, a mood I particulary enjoy, kind of a bit old-fashioned and this only 200 km from Brussels. The architecture mainly dates from the beginning of the XIXth century and is predominantly Victorian Anglo-Norman in style. With its promenade and beach huts it retains much of the flavour of this era.

I admired this very agile boy enjoying himself...just below, where I stood, is the beach. Would have liked to take some more of him, but the parents called him back:-), it is a bit dangerous even with the sand...

Hi Michele,

To just click is easy.... but to make that click sensible is ardous...
EXCELLENT CAPTURE AND WELL PRESENTED..
Super in B/W.

bonsoir,

From your point of view and the way you cropped it it look very dangerous. Well seen and caught in the right moment.

Hi Michele,
somehow an unreal scene, I like the horizontal layers with different tones of grey and the movement you captured. From the distance it´s like a modern painting.
Well done !
Cheers christian

Amicalement,
Fabrice

Hi Michéle,

we have a great saying about youth: youth is craziness jumping over creek where there is a bridge (what a useless translation :S ). Well, you know what I want to say. Hope so! :) Seeing the boy climbing slope like this it speaks of his youth boldness. It is most intriging with how many risky stuff they get away with. If I would try to do something like that I would definitelly be recovering from not so gentle landing in a sand. :) This boy strongly reminds me of street runners. I cannot help not to admire them. As I admire this boy, going his own way, choosing his own path. With additional treatment of stressed horizontal layers and excellent BW work this is one excellent shot!

Pleasant evening!

Bonjour Michelle

A +,

Fine POV, good shot, nice game of light and shadows, good caught dynamic moment. An interesting work. I like it.

Hello Michele,

An excellent shot of the boy in the rather precarious perch. The composition and resolution are very good, and so is your note. There is a timeless element in the b&w, which makes the evocative of pre-1960s.

Warm regards and have a good weekend,

Bulent
