Photographer’s Note

These are the golden domes of the Assumption Cathedral inside the Kremlin.
For six centuries the Assumption Cathedral had been the state and cultural center of Russia: Great Princes were set for reigning and local princes swore fealty, inaugurations of Tsars and coronations of Emperors took place here. Bishops, Metropolitans and Patriarchs were inaugurated, statements and ceremonial documents were publicly read, church services before military campaigns and in case of a victory were held at the Assumption Cathedral.

Stunning shot jorge! The colours in this are really lush and saturated, yet they seem in some cases to glow too, creating a very beautiful result.

Jorge,
now this is another interesting post. Again the technical part is intriguing, but this time for the hue that you achieved it. If this would be a digital one I clearly would point it as being the wrong WB choice. Hmmm, it is a scanned one, so things are different and there I don't have any experience. Did you try to use a filter to loose this hue?
The composition is almost a classic for this type of russian golden domes.

Beautiful photograph and scan! Your simple composition is perfect. No distracting background clutter to distract us from these marvelous domes. Sometimes our first impressions are the best and keeping the composition simple is the best way to go. Outstanding work!

the magenta might be a little weird I'd try to desaturate it a bit.

Hola Jorge,

Very good quality for a scanned image. I never seem to get this quality out of my scans. The domes are very nice however I think the image lacks some light to make it brighter. Overall the colours and details seem fine. Good perspective of this interesting architecture. Gracias por compartir :-)

Hello Jorge, how are you?
I look at this image and I think that you always have been loved to take photographs! This one is well framed having as the main subject those amazing cupolas. Although this is a scanned one is very good. Have a nice weekend.
