This is what my neighbourhood in South Vancouver looks like if you look up in the hours before sunset.
I love the old trees on the sides of most residential (and even city roads). They definately help beautify the place, and the shade they provide is nice on those hot, sunny days.
This is third in my series of pics from around my current home (I'm moving soon though, wooo-hooo!). Please critique hard. I don't mind if you don't like a pic, and I really appreciate constructive criticism.
My first two pics were:
The House On The Corner
Sunset on a Window

OK, Alex, I'll give you some honest thoughts on this series. Technically, they're fine, but to me, the subject matter just isn't that interesting . . . maybe that's b/c I grew up in N. American suburbs not too different from these, so it's nothing new to me. But, it seems to me that you're trying to show something beyond just what the suburbs look like, but to be honest, I'm not sure what it is you're trying to show. Personally, if I were shooting suburban N. American, I think I would try to convey a sort of American-Beauty-type-life-is-not-as-neat-and-pretty-as-it-seems atmosphere. Admittedly, I have no idea how I'd do that, but that might be more interesting to me. Anyway, those are my thoughts . . . take them for what they're worth :-)

Although the light in here is great, as well the colors there seems to be missing something, a main focusing point. Yet the composition is balanced and agree that it works well in the series sequence (better than isolated).
