This was taken at the Laura Plantation in Vacherie, Louisiana. A few weeks ago the plantation was destroyed by fire. I had hoped to get a better version of this but now....it is forever gone.

This is a beautiful memorial. The shadows and soft lighting are very well captured, I think, as are the subtle colors that make this almost old-fashioned. The only bad spot is that object in the lower right. It's something to think about when fire, water or wind wipe out something in a few moments that we consider precious and ageless.
