[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Divers prepare to dive under 2 feet of ice at Square Lake in MInnesota. Due to the number of divers this year, we had to cut 2 holes.

The hole is in the shape of a triangle so that 3 divers go in at a time - one on each point. The divers are attached to a line for safety with a "line tender" on the surface. The water is 32ºF near the surface & 39ºF at around 25 feet. Most divers wear a drysuit, but every few years one or 2 people will dive in wetsuits! Brrrrr!
