Photographer’s Note

Barkada is a Filipino word for very close circle of friends. I took this picture almost two years ago using my first DSLR a Nikon D70s. As I was playing with my camera one afternoon, a group of young boys were playing with some home made boards--surfing on the shores of the beautiful white beach of Boracay.

The island Boracay is very well known for its long shoreline of fine powder white sand. An hour by plane from Manila and flights are available everyday almost every hour.

Hello Chris

AT first I thought this was the usual tourist photo, you know the type where focus is always on the family and friends and so on...
However, this proved to be something else.
I like the way this photo seems to be arranged, but at the same time it doesn't look arranged.
Lovely composition and great colours.
Maybe this group of friends are placed a little close to the bottom right corner, a little more air would propably do justice.

Great shot cris! good to see that your aim wasn't on the Barkada, as a lot of people fail to do so, by having "apple eyes" and focusing on the people involved. But you have a nice contrast between the happy barkada and the beautiful island of Boracay. Salamat! If only i could return! i miss my barkada already haha!

I love this picture. It perfectly shows a happy-go-lucky attitude. The worn-out colors of the boards are so real.
