Photographer's Note

A bright morning in Rio de Janeiro. It was a great opportunity to discover the famous "Pão de Açucar". A steep mountain with its feet in the sea.

It was a really impressive view, especially when arriving on the narrow beach "Praia vermelha" with so few people. I always thought the place full of tourists. Not this time.

Then, arriving at the first station, in front of the Sugar Loaf, you reach a large plateform embrassing the whole bay of Rio de Janeiro. Few steps and you are surounded by sea and deep forest in front of this huge mountain. It's unforgettable.

At this very moment, you understand the meaning of "A cidade maravilhosa". Once the "Bondinho" sent you on the top itself of the Sugar Loaf, it's even more wonderful...

I love how the cable cars disappear in this cloud together with the rock and the background create a magnificent shot.
The cloud really turn it from a nice shot to a great one.

Phenomenal vista, with the cloud and the car both in just the right spot. Technically, it looks like sharpness and contrast could be higher (polarizer would have worked wonders), but this shot still succeeds on the strength of your framing and timing.

Dramatic! With the clouds swirling around the top of the rock and the way the rock seems to tilt to the side.

Very impressive shot, superbe scenary and nicely shot. What makes this photo very special is the clouds over the mountain top and cables.
I wouldn't go there however, fear of heights.

sorry my french is hazardeux but english too bad, but i learned too, tambien. i'm new on this website, parlez vous français ? :+)
cela sera plus simple for me.
nuages nuages quand tu nous tiens, j'y reste.
mais après ? la descente sera t'elle aussi magique que la montée ? mystérius ... en attendant le souffle qui chasse la vapeur d'eau cristalisé au sommet d'un pain de sucre, je me demande si un cable tendu vers un cigarre peut tenir la chaleur sans indiquer présence humaine... sinon les pierres seraient en bas, et pas besoin de les gravir ? juste l'envie d'une escalade... mouai mais bon , l'escalade c pas mon truc. enfin bref , tout cela pour vous dire que j'ai rien compris à : Jest szpetny, ten dziecko... A++

The cables draw your eyes into the scene. I don't like how the cables meet at the center of the photo. Perhaps reframe or crop the photo such that the focal point observes the rule-of-thirds.

Spectacular photo. The composition and the timing are wonderful. The cables fading into the cloud are great. The geology speaks to the places this moment very nicely in Rio de Janeiro.

The best picture I have seen of the cable car going up to Pao de Azucar! I did not succeed at all, while trying to get good pictures.

magnificent view and a great moment you captured the cable car exactly where it should be for dramatization of the picture.
