You can paint... kind of. You've painted with light to catch this wonderful scene. To be a little picky it does look as if the horizon is tilting a little but it is a very good first post. Welcome to TE!

Pretty impressive first post with the new camera. A lot better than some efforts, anyway. Considering you probably had the camera on automatic, or landscape mode, and you had no filters or anything, it's nicely exposed. The sky is a little light and the land is a little dark, but only a filter could have corrected that. It does look a little tilted, but that may be just because the land is rising to the right naturally. I expect that you might get more people mentioning it. I'll try a workshop to see if I can improve it a bit.

I agree with your brother, the exposure is nicely done although the darker parts are probably a little too dark. I also noticed the photo is slightly tilted. In photoshop that is easily fixed by rotating the canvas a few degrees clockwise. I think the photo would benefit from a little more saturation. Are you already shooting in RAW btw? If you don't, you should! :) Ask Andy!
