In the rising heat of May the sense of the city of Chongqing living up to its reputation as one of the 'Cauldrons of China' begins to make sense......the porters of Chaotianmen carry on regardless - up and down the steep steps of the river cliff market place where anything can be bought - and cheaply if you want at least 100 of them! This place is a fascinating environment and community and I am full of awe at the loads people carry - this guy- pain and concentration in his face, is carrying a solid looking sack barrow up the whole length of the steps........
.......there is a closer image in the workshop as he stepped towards me - I'm not sure which one i prefer really........your thoughts?

hi there grandpa!;)... i prefer this one (may be with a tighter crop though)... his eyes are closed and his hand is missing in the WS and both add a lot to this compo i think...
kiss the angel for me...
best wishes, korkut...

You've really caught the moment here Kev - you can feel the pressure on that guys shoulders. Very well composed. All the best, Roberto

I also love this one. You can feel the charge of the load carried by this man.

A great street portrait of this porter who is obviously struggling under his load.

Oh yes, the pain is so visible in his face. I think if he saw you taking the picture, he would have laughed it away.
Purely on the eyes, I am going for the main posting and not the workshop. I like a tighter crop, but you weren't lucky with his eyes there.
Thanks for sharing and have a good weekend!

Very well captured. You can fell the heavy load that this person is carring. The colors are wonderful and the POV is excellent.

Hi Kev, I have been looking at your work more and more recently as it echoes something I'm working on at the mo. I prefer this image, the downward direction of his gaze echoes the feel of a life of burden. I doubt this is how the gentleman feels, however i think it is an image that draws those conclusions from the viewer. ExcellentStuff.

A very nice shot that shows the difficulties these guys have to cope with. I personnaly prefer the 1st shot compared to the WS as it gives a better view of what this guy is enduring
