This is a Paso: one of the taken in procession during the Semana Santa, the week of Passion before Easter. Pasos are very rich, made of wood and silver platforms, with wooden statue/group of statues dressed in rich clothes. People bring them on their shoulders as penitence, but it's considered an high honor.
It's amazing to see those processions, with people in their best mourning dresses, beautiful "ancient" womens with black mantillas and fans, and the hooded tunics of the brotherhoods! It seems more an ancient ritual than a religious one, but you can feel the faith of the people while you look at the procession.
I can't remember which church is this , but each paso has its particular beauty and each statue tells a story. Most of them are so realistic that you could trust their tears, and their dresses are something you will never forget!

Ciao Laura,
Ahh Siviglia, che bei ricordi... Ottima prospettiva e geniale composizione, veramente artistica. Peccato che il rosone sia un tantino sovraesposto, comunque la foto resta bella ed interessante. Piacevoli i riflessi sui vetri. Brava.
A presto
Paolo.

Hi Laura,
Jolie photo du détail de ce bel édifice sous de jolies couleurs.
Best regards
Denise

Interesting composition, with the use of the glass candelabra in the foreground which was in my mind a really good idea. But both light and sharpness could have suffered a little improvement.

All the best,

Emmanuel
