Photographer’s Note
This was taken along the slough near Vancouver Lake and the National Wildlife Refuge at Ridgefield. The shape and reflections in this image caught my eye as I was driving past it and then I decided to stop and capture the scene. I used a 90mm F2.5 with a 1.4 teleconvertor along with a polorizer, a Neutral Density Gray 2, and shot at ASA 200.
In the workshop is another image of this scene, I worked on a litho type image from this original that you may want to see...

Hi Steven
Superb fg reflections with marvellous sunset colours & a logical choice of a vertical format. Perhaps slightly oversharpened, & there is some banding at the top I would mask with gaussian blur. Fantastic framing & compo though, & this would look great as a painting. Tfs!

Hello Steven.
This one is a really nice shot, with the most wonderful colour tones. Extraordinary sharpness and a very nice composition showing a fine array of masts and their reflections. You placed the buildings in the right spot to make the proportions very pleasing. The light and the atmosphere is slightly melancholy, but I like that. I think the ND filter has been very useful here. Well done.

Andrew

Hi Steven,
The top is a bit washed out on the exposure, but the lower part is so good, so well presented and very strong in the composition that i forget the top and put all focus on the lower section. Absolute great colors there and a very good perspective and reflection...very nice.

Hello Steve,
Beautiful photo on having seen her in miniature, was looking like a painting. I like these houses of colors endorsed by the color ocher of the trees without sheets, a nice contrast. The reflexes full of vertical lines also are very well.

Steve,
I'm glad that you place this as your main post and not the workshop. Latter is a little bit to weird for my puritane eyes :-)
The main post has a wonderful atmosphere and is one of your best shots ever. I just wish that the top would be less overeposed or washed out.

Yes, it is an eye-catcher ! What a great mood, so tranquil yet so colorful, beautiful reflections in geometrical patterns due to the shape of the huts. I love that array of warm brownish gold colors with the touches of blues and greens and the ligtht. It would have made a very nice square format too, taking off some sky. I much prefer this to the ws. Well done, good piece of work Steve.
Have a great week

Great composition including the rippled foreground reflection. The warm tones add greatly to an already good image.
Looks like noise reduction was applied and may have overstepped it's boundaries when applied to the trees. To avoid that in my compositions I usually apply noise reduction to a duplicate later and then add a layer mask to the noise reduced layer to tone it down if I lost to much detail and got "smoothing" in places I don't want it.

Hello Steve
Great reflections captured in the mirror like lake adding to the graphism of houses, poles and trees. The color combination fit well together and are nicely saturated. Fine sharpness and good choice of vertical framing.
Have a nice day
Marilyn
P.S In your last critique, you were asking if it was rice in the land and the answer (a bit late, because I've got problem with my computer) is yes ;).

Hi Steve,
This has always been our idealized lifestyle; your photo captures the peaceful feeling of life on the water perfectly with the golden light and the mirroring water. The WS is very intersting & instructive.
We had a great time, let's do some fishing together. Would you believe it's snowing here agan?

Hi Steve, I missed this and it shows another side of your creativity. The tall masts and their reflections look so good alongside the thin trees. Good ambiance throughout. TFS. Murray
