Photographers Note
The same place in my "Lonely Sunday" photo...
This time visited with my TE friends Mesut Ilgim, Isabela Sorescu and Anellise Lucu...
Those people and a stray dog are just a conicidence to come together in the cadrage, they look like lost in the labyrinth-like streets of Fener district.
............................
The district of Fener, known to the Byzantines as Fanarion and to the Ottoman Greeks as Fanaraki. The Jews were settled after their expulsion from Spain, enlarging a community which had lived here since Byzantine times. In the 19th century it was famous for its masonry houses with richly decorated interiors in Turkish style and for its taverns. Today it is a dilapidated but quaint area of steep cobbled streets and old stone houses with bay windows, where it is a pleasure to wander around, getting lost and discovering the many historic buildings here.

Bonjour, cher Deniz,
J'aime beaucoup.
Amitiés.

Merhaba Deniz,
This image delivers a good luminous impression despite being mostly in the shade, nice comprehensive composition of the people discovering this street full of nice details, we can see the man is very didactic in his approach but the womandoes not seem to be interested that much... somehow she has felt the presence of this band of maniacs... I like your note a lot, in the details we can see that you are a real TE veteran ;-)
Have a nice week end JY

Selam sevgili Deniz,
Quo Vadis ?
Tebrikler
Selam ve sevgiler

Nice one, Deniz, although I think you forgot to change the portrait lens, f/1.8 is not very appropriate here as the people are unsharp... but the claustrophobic composition is first class with the people seeming to be lost in the narrow street... hope that the dog will not bother the moderators...:))
Cheers

Hi Deniz.
Very nice shot, as a painting.
It does'n matter that human figures are out of focus, it's however a great pic.
Kind regards.

fener...an endless photo pleasure and photo opportunity...
what i like here most is the "compressed" perspective with thos people standing out from the surroundings...
so you were the guide again? i envy you guys...
best, j.

The fusion of the colourful chaos of the present and the architectural legacy of the faded away multiculturalism, which existed at this place once, make this sokak unique indeed. Fener and Balat are certainly among the most photogenic neighbourhoods of Istanbul. Very beautiful photo.

Hi,Deniz,
A very nice capture of one of the little streets making a genuine labyrinth. I like the daily look of this otherwise drowsing street.
Very nice.

Hi Denis,
this is for my soul. I like very much the old part of cities. With the more skill in Photoshop that could be very good combination. But, your idea is excellent.

merhaba deniz bey
selamlar

Bunlar kesinlikle pazarlari otobusler dolusu Balat'a gelen Yunanli turistlerden diiller. Bunca senedir onlarin icinde siyah giyen hic gormedim, hep rengarenkler masallah. Bunlar kesin Ispanyol. ))

Hi Deniz,
So this is where you bring your friends! In dead ends with nowhere to go... They must trust you very much!... LOL!
Well, if I was visiting Istanbul with you, this is where I would like to go, in places where we can get inspired, in the real world where people hang out their clothes to make it dry. I remember a lesson from brother Luko, who once told me "Found the location first, than the subjects will appears by themselves"...
So this is what you have spontaneously done, you have found the right spot and then, some people decided to get lost in front of your camera. And as a bonus, you even got a dog for the same price.
Cheers!
André

Very detailled, light and colorful street, we can even count the cobble-stones, suspecting you threw a stone that made her look around ... the perfect antagonist TE-dog shows us masterly where to look at, this beauty ... of the old street, the laundry up to the satelite antennes, all is there, proof of colorful life as a journey through time, maaarvelous !

Hello Deniz,
This reminds me a bit the streets of some cities in Portugal, with the clothes hanging on the facades, those colours and also the textures of the walls.
I like this kind of streets shooting mixing human elements but with great proemninence to the architectural environmente and you mixed it well here.
Their expressions are quite funny and fit well with your title.
Cheers.
Paulo
