Big Ben by night - London Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Clock Tower is a turret clock structure at the north-eastern end of the Houses of Parliament building in Westminster, London, United Kingdom, often mistakenly called "Big Ben" — which is actually the main bell housed within the Clock Tower. The tower was raised as a part of Charles Barry's design for a new palace, after the old Palace of Westminster was destroyed by fire on the night of 16 October 1834. The tower is designed in the Victorian Gothic style, and is 96.3 metres high.

Hi Svein, i have kind of fascination for that kind o shots, and even more when they are well executed like this one. Ok there are two little burnt parts but nothing serious and not enough to disturb the view. You used a vantage POV and the realisation was done at perfect moment of the day.
I have almost the same version of those "wall of light under big ben" ;)

Great shot, I wish you wouldnt cut the bicycle logo on the road though!
The workshop done by donluicu is not very good, it just cuts off all interesting parts and pix looses its magic.

Hej Svein,
I like this photo - you have done a good job in many ways. First of all, sky is still somewhat blue but lights are already turned on.
Using those light trails definitely adds interest on this shot.
I workshopped this image as well - maybe a bit tighter cropping would work here, mostly because there's that dark area on the right.
Anyways, well done.

Good combination of dark blue sky, warm light of the wall standing opposite to dark side on the right. The rays add more dynamic to this photo. I found this is one of the best of yours on TE. However, all of your pics are for natural and architectural scene. Do you think of posting something on people?

You've taken a much photographed subject and provided a different and artistic twist to it. I love the slow speed used which has captured the lines of light from the traffic. Very well done.

I love traffic trail shots! I think the exposure is just about right here with the buildings just how they should be, maybe the face of Big Ben could be a little less exposed but then again thats no loss compared to getting the rest of the shot correct!
