Narrow Water Keep and its accompanying castle are situated on the northern shore of Carlingford Lough at the mouth of the Newry River. The stone keep was built by the Normans under Hugh DeLacy, Earl of Ulster, in 1212 to protect the market town of Newry some 5 miles upriver. The walls are on average 5 feet thick! The Republic of Ireland is just yards away across the river.
A very cold morning last month. This was actually sunrise.
Bit of a difference in this and one i took of the same scene earlier last year HERE
Thanks for looking :)

Hello Gary!
A fine harmonic composition there, I like very much the position of the elements in your picture. Good depth.
Perhaps a bit soft, but it also enhances the grey winter mood in the picture. Could also have been a fine B&W?
Really a striking difference from your summer shot at the same place!
Well done.
Regards, Jon.
Hello Gary,
Beautiful cold eerie atmospher, very good composition and point of view, nice soft colors and good light.

Great mood in this shot, with the dark, glowering sky, and the bare trees and snow on the ground. The environment comes across as really harsh in this. I like the composition too, with the shoreline sweeping around in a huge curve from the tower right to the foreground, giving this a great sense of depth. Beautiful piece of work!
fantastic capture bags of wintermood here love it aj
