Once Upon A Winter Day

Once upon a winter day
Gray clouds passed swiftly across the sky
As shapely snowflakes fell steadily down,
Covering the land in a dazzling white
Leaving a winter calling card on the ground.

Once upon a winter day
The snow-edged creek silently wept
Near the shadows of the tall pine trees
Trimmed in a glittering white lace,
Creating an impressive display in the breeze.

Once upon a winter day
Branches drooped to the impassable road
Due to the weight of the snow.
Icicles hung from the dormant trees
In view of the shattered daylight glow.

very special photo, a bit frightening, this lonely woman (?) standing with the back to you looks like a dark, threatening prophecy. And you very consequently keep this mood with the dark sky. Interesting and beautiful, inspires interpretation.

acea persoana sa fie mai aproape...asa aproape ca nu conteaza.

Une photo très origninale tant dans son traitement que dans sa composition avec cette surprenante zone surexposée (un tout petit peu trop peut-être?) qui attire notre regard et le conduit vers cete forme humaine mystérieuse.

Hello Veronica,

Un petit manque de nettteté ici mais cela ne gache pas l'image car l'ambiance d'hiver et l'éclairage de l'avant plan est très bien vu ! Le chemin et surtout la personne seule sur le chemin donne une ambiance très particulière à cette photographie qui me fait penser à un décor de film de vampire !
C'est bien vu !

In this hauntingly beautiful photograph, you've given us something very different and mysterious. Your Nikon D-80 has served you very well to capture the moment, although, I am surprised that you did not use a tripod to achieve such a well resolved night shot. I'm curious about the source of the light? Bravo, Veronica. First rate photograph!

Hi Veronica,
Very beautiful and moody shot. I like the fresh snow covering the area and the person. The darkness in the distance evokes a darker mood. I can almost feel a "spookyness" to the area.
