Photographer’s Note
Well I am back, after a very long break!! Still taking photo's yesterday went out and couldn't resist the priory in the snow, paying 1.10 to get in i was glad i came out with this photo, i really quite like it, I am unsure if the blury bottom takes away from the photo or not what do you think? but i like it otherwise im a little out of practice in notes and PP so other then cropping this is how it came. thanks for having a looking comments and critiques welcome.

An unusual image Ashley, and getting down low has worked very well to create something a bit different. 99% of photos must be taken at a height of 5 - 6 feet, so getting lower or higher than that often produces more interesting images.
For the shot to be a complete success, I think you needed to use a smaller aperture to bring the details in the foreground into sharp focus, along with the abbey - try using f/16 or f/22 for these kinds of shots.
Other than that it's a good, creative shot. Well done.

hi Ashley,
I think it works well .. if you crop the blurry area it destroys too much dimension in my opinion (although I might leave the snow and crop the foreground stone) .. I think the blur gives a nice since of intimacy with the place and contrasts well with the crisp trees and timeless ruin .. I love the amount of detail you have in the darkness of the ruin .. very nice.
