Photographer’s Note
While driving down some country roads, I came across an uninhabited farmstead that had been turned into a veritable junkyard. The driveway was lined with years of debris -- kids' roller skates, an old person's walker, broken exercise equipment, etc. It was very sad to me that someone had trashed this beautiful old farm.
Somehow, it seemed fitting to me that this ragged flag was stuck in the weeds among the junk. Without getting too political, I feel that this image represents a society that has foresaken a homegrown lifestyle for 99-cent specials in big box stores. We are all somehow responsible, even if we aren't the ones who dumped the disposable diapers next to the old barn. Taking pictures doesn't solve the problem, but maybe ranting helps a little. :)
