Photographer’s Note
Last August the city of Pisco was one of the hardest hit by an earthquake. It registered 8. something and the earth actually shook for about 3 minutes, pretty much leveling the city.
Even after 5 months the city is full of rubble and look like a war zone, though the people are trying to get on with their lives.
The building in the background here had been a 3 story hotel, the only people that survived were staying on the third floor, the people on the lower floors died when the other floors collapsed on to them.
