Photographer’s Note
A highland cow at sunset, taken near Dunvegan Castle. Another beautiful sunset on the Isle of Skye. This cow was particularly friendly and good natured, but didn't stay still for very long!

Great portrait of an interesting cow. Well composed, beautiful light and great atmosphere. Still, I think there is too much yellow in the image – especially on the water.

Nice colors of the sunset, nice details on the cow. I like the dying rays of the sun falling on the back of the cow. Did you try a landscape framing here? That may have been good too.

There's only one area that we can identify immediately with your picture: Scotland!!! Great shot with beautiful light on the Highland Cattle. I have to agree with Olli that the light on the water is a bit too bright, it distracts from the main subject. But otherwise: excellent work!

Spectacular range of golden tones. Good job on exposure here. I also like the composition although it would have been great with a lower angle as well. It would have allowed the cow to 'raise' against the sky. Still a very good shoot. We now have reasons beyond Laphroigh to visit Skye,)

Very nice shot. Good composure and great colours. Also good DoF. I myself posted a shot of a highland cow (portrait shot), however the conditions in which I took the shot were not quite as idyllic as yours. Well done Bob!

The first thing that struck about this photo were the golden hues. They are just lovely. That cow also took the time to oblige you with that majestic pose. A lovely composition.

Gold is your picture, Bob !
What a wonderful creation of the Highlander in it's beauty and pose, the light is great (maybe "too great" but it's not disturbing).
Good shot !

Marvellous capture! The light creates a strange atmosphere. Congratlation Bob!
Moreover, but it's a secret between you and me, I love Scotland and its "beautiful" highland cattles!

Wow, Bob, this is an amazing shot. You really caught the cow looking its best. As if it was posing. And the golden color of the scenery goes perfectly with the brown fur of the cow. The sharpness is great as well. Full marks! A favourite.
