Photographer’s Note

An icy day in Bucharest National Park.
I was walking in the park when Isabela called and invited me to a spontanious meeting.
Firstly I was amazed by Isabelas talent of putting together a meeting at such short notice. Secondly, thanks to her I met four other TE members.
For this reason I have dedicated this photo to all these special people: Isa, Anes, Teo, Johannes and Iulian.

The picture in WS is also for them.

Very nice and tranquil scene, wonderfully framed. B&w treatment serves it very well. For my taste bluring of the branches at the top of the frame would not have been necessary, but that's just my personal view. I still like this image very much.

This is photography taken to the realm of Art where creativity involves a distortion of what the eye can see.I suppose various lenses do that and programmes like Photoshop can make one very creative.The picture resembles a pencil or charcoal drawing, a poetic, subtle and inspired creation. a wonderful shot, i wouldnt have guessed it to be in B/W. Such a cold winter scene. something makes me feel sorry about the ducks though, being in such cold water, but thats life :D

Hello Liliana,

In your bio it says postcards influenced your passion for photography and to me this photo is a perfect postcard. This photo drips with romance. Your composition is excellent with the placement of the bridge but the extra elements of the birds on the water and the people walking over the bridge make this shot stand out. I love the blur in the top portion it creates a bit of mystery which helps enhance the romantic mood.

I'd say this has the potential to be a poster to be sold all over the world. One of my favorite pictures from TE I have seen.

Yes I wanna leave reality and be on a place like that for a while where beauty it the primary notice. I love the magic felt through the photo, I love photos that make me feel, doesn't matter how, just to make me feel something, anything. U have quite an eye Liliana to capture art in a special way.

A very stunning image, well done in B/w, Liliana. It's other-worldly and has such a tranquility abou it. I love the water and the birds. I'm not so keen on the blurred upper part, and perhaps the snow is over-exposed, but the atmosphere is remarkable, and the way it plays with one's imagination and memory.

Serious. It's your creativity what makes all these images, but to start with you need a good image and sure you have a big talent for that. It's always the light what brings them forward and most of them are made in a style which brings me back to my own work. I really like it, great mood, nice atmosphere and taken at the right moment with people on the bridge and the birds in front. Your border adds nice colour...the right colour for this.

Beautiful, serene scene. Good timing to show the birds and people, did you have to wait long to get them in nice locations? Nice cropping to show the tree at the right edge along with it;s reflection. And B&W looks to be a nice choice.

Wow, most amazing painting in b&w, Lili. The soft tones all over the image make me think I'm in a dream. The graphism from the trees and bridge is attractive and I like the presence of the people passing the bridge and the inclusion of the ducks in FG giving some depth. Beautiful WS, as well. Great feeling captured in this image. I also like it alot. I agree with a a previous poster about the blur being a bit too much in the trees. Kind of torn though because the softness helps keep the mood of the image sureal. Maybe using a different blur technique or maybe just a little less of what you did would suit my taiste better? Either way, it is a very effective image.

A superb note for an exquisite image! Magnificently composed, flawless exposed. The dark mat makes a compelling frame for the bridge in Bucharest national Park, and the engaging note makes completes a very good TE package. I see that you took it just 2-3 weeks ago. Isabela Sor, with her enthusiasm and charm could organize sunbathers from the French Riviera trek up to a bathing party in the Arctic. On August 20, 2008 I am going to be visiting Constanta on theCrystal Serenity, and she is going to come down from Bucharest, if possible. Beautiful dream like image with the lovely gentle curve of this short bridge across the placid waters of the park pond. A very good shot of that place, pov is perfect, proportion, colors...a terrible icy atmosphere! I like also the bird in first plan to caught the eyes.

Wow, what a magnificent image, I am sure there is nothing I can add to the accolades but is the fog/blur at the top of the frame as it was shot or is it an effect from post production or maybe even a filter? What ere it will not detract from the photo, it is one of the best I have eve seen.

le titre est bien choisi pour cette composition qui tient un peu de la féerie. Un post processing qui est bien visible mais non exagéré et qui conserve bien l'esprit de la scène réelle tout en l'embellissant.

Leaving reality ? C'est vrai qu'il y a un peu de cela ! Je trouve l'utilisation de neat-image trop exagérée, sinon cette photo est vraiment intéressante... Il y a quelque chose de l'ordre de l'irréel dans celle-ci, un irréel que l'on visiterait bien d'ailleurs...

Wow!

Auf die Gefahr hin, dass es plump klingt - beim Betrachten deiner Fotografie läuft mir ein kalter Schauer vom Nacken den Rücken herunter und ich bekomme eine Gänsehaut.

Es wirkt auf mich einsam und ruhig (im Vordergrund) und gleichzeitig unterschwellig bedrohlich, düster und befremdlich (im Hintergrund) - dort lauert die Kälte.
