Photographer’s Note
Forge River Mastic NY
The Forge River, located between the hamlets of Mastic and Moriches on the south shore of Suffolk County, has great recreational and ecological value. Unfortunately, historic activities have subjected the river to numerous nutrient and pollutant sources including duck farm and sewage treatment plant discharges, septic system leachate, storm water runoff, loss of wetlands, small-lot development, and shoreline hardening that have resulted in adverse impacts.

Hola Angela,
Sencilla y bella composición en la que parece que las gaviotas ocuparon todos los palos para posar para ti. Bonitos colores y estupenda definición.

Hello, Angela.
This is simply wonderful - fabulous colours and reflections and fantastic composition with that line of poles leading the eye to the right. And not quite every pole has a bird on it!
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Bonjour Angela,
Tout simplement superbe composition, la rangée de piquets ressemble un peu a une portée musicale et les oiseaux a des notes.
Jolie partition de mère nature, bien cadrée.

Hello Angela,
I actually saw a very similar situation in Lake District in England, with the birds of top of pilars like that. And I just didn't know how best to take the picture. This is the answer!

Hi Angela,
A lovely perspective looking down the line of poles.I hope there wasn't a trigger happy hunter in the vicinity as those gulls would have been a temptation hard to resist :-) The deep blue of the water is so soothing.....almost hypnotic.Great work.....TFS.

Hello Angela
Love the deep blue of this shot, but like even more the graphical qualities provided by the posts. They provide good perspective and the gulls are the icing on the cake. Nicely done.
Best wishes

I like this capture, Angela. The simplicity of all details is nice... and at same time we have lots of details to see. Very good graphism in the foreground, with those poles driving our eyes to the background. Good depht.

Nice work, Angela. The line of poles leads the eye really well; the reflections in the water are a nice added touch; and the birds perched atop are an extra attraction. Good rich colors and POV. The lighting from this angle is probably not the best, but worth doing to see the birds from this approach.
Well done,
Jim

Hi Angela,
Wonderful work! It is funny to see each post is occupied by only one bird. I am sure if another gull were to land and attempt to share a perch there would be a fight breaking out. I like the gradual change in gradient across the water from deep blue/black in the left to lighter tones towards the sun. I like also how the posts are reflected in such a warped, rippled way. Good depth of field and great contrast. TFS, and also for the visit!

Hello Angela,
Bien vu !

Hi Angela
A beautiful scene, with a large membership and an unmatched depth of field. I like the shade, and though it lacks a little bit of definition, I think it's a beautiful work, very timely. Congratulations.

Wonderful depth created by the curving rows of tidal poles as the line the deep blue waters the lovely bay. The gulls are gathered in neary capacity on the poles.

Hello Angela,
What a clever composition, how nice build up in the frame. That on all poles are seagulls is a very nice bonus and adds great interest in the overal composition. The two different blue tones from sky and water are great, i like it.

I really love the composition here, and how the birds are sat on the poles coming out of the water. The reflections are spot on, and shadow detail and blues in your capture finish of the image nicely.
Well done
