Photographer’s Note
Men at work
Taken at a government housing complex in South Calcutta. Whenever I visited Calcutta I stayed with a friend of mine at his in a government housing complex. This afternoon as I was being lazy and looking for something to shoot from the balcony of his apartment I spotted these men across the street. They were replacing the sewer pipes in this aging building hanging precariously from the bamboo scaffolding.
Sorry about the quality of light due to a very grumpy sky.

Hello Pranab,
Good shot of the action. Comparing the western way of construction and safety, in India the guys are fearless :)
This is a right example.

Hi Pranab
It is a document how people risk their life during the work and how shouldn`t work. Nice and interesting capture.

Very interesting series from Calcutta, Pranab.
I like the many vertical lines here, and the very natural looking colour. The framework on which those blokes are working looks quite perilous in construction. Great daily life shot.

Andrew
