Photographer’s Note

It was a windy day on the top of Kailash Giri, a hill, in the city of Vishakapattnam, India. I saw this colourful bee in the marigold garden. The contrast in the colour was facinating. These bees stay few seconds on the top of the flower, making focusing a difficult job. But I found that they first sit on the sepal and then move towards the top of the flowers. This gave some time for focusing. While I had other photos with the full image of the bee, I found this one fascinating. When the flower was oscilatting due to wind, the bee was beautifully balancing on the petals. I used a telelens, but macrolens would have been more appropriate.
