late december 2006, I had the chance to visit a painting exhibition in Brussels on Leon Spillaert, a Belgian painter originating from Ostend. His work was a real discovery for me, it deeply moved me... This photograph came out of my memories from this exhibition... please check the workshop to see the painting

Indeed, a good inspiration. I like the graphism in your photo and the cool colours.
Spillaert has some great works, i also like him a lot.

Hi Eric,

Nice the way you framed the curbes, it made a great composition. The soft color tones are perfect to help in concentrate the attention to the graphic stairs.

Hey, a picture inspired by my favourite painter! In fact a copy of this painting is my study here.

About the picture: yes, I like it, but not 100%. The painting's pov is down the steep stairs (hence 'Vertigo'), not towards the sky or the distant horizon. Half of your picture is a blue-ish sky, which doesn't add very much to the whole. Still, it's great to see the work of Spilliaert catching on!

Have you tried a bl/w version?

Seems like ages since I last stopped by your gallery... apologies as I've been swamped over the past couple months!I like what you were going for with this shot, but the one thing that really distracts me is the (seemingly) crooked horizon. I think it could also benefit from a slight highlight adjustment to tone them down a bit.

C'est une très bonne idée que d'avoir mis en parallèle une photo et une peinture et je trouve le résultat réussi, même si je t'avouerai que je ne distingue pas ce dont il s'agit en haut des escaliers... Je vois un genre de phoque mais à Ostende j'ai un doute... Alors ce doit être une personne...
Tu fais donc de la double publication TE + photoholik...

Bonjour Eric,

Sans regarder le WS, je trouvais ta photo très interessante, mais le WS apporte encore de la force à ta photo.
La compo est nickelle avec cette bonne intégration des courbes des marches.
