Hagia Sophia in the dark, a photo from Istanbul, Marmara

Photographer's Note

There are not too may lamps inside the great hall of Hagia Sophia, and in winter when the outside light cannnot reach the vast interior, it becomes dark very early, and pictures taken before closure time come out as if taken at night.
This lonely man was rushing towards the entrance because an announcement was made for the evacuation of visitors just before 5.00 pm, closure time of the museum.

Hi,

it's a beautiful shot. Looks like a painting. The positioning of that man is optimal, right under the big chandelier and looking towards the middle of the picture. Perfect composition!

tablo tadında nefis bir kare izzet bey... bu açıdan ve detayların bu kadar belirgin seçilebildiği başka bir fotoğrafını gördüğümü zannetmiyorum ayasofyanın... hanımefendinin varlığı da çok şey katmış kompozisyonunuza... elinize sağlık...

Probaly this is one of the best photos I've seen from Hagia Sophia.
Also is true that I would think that with f/2.8 the DOF was very different, but I see a high quality in its sharpness.

Quelle chance d'avoir été presque seul dans cet endroit magnifique mais généralement tellement peuplé de touristes ! Une seule personne par contre n'est pas inutile pour peupler la photo et donner une échelle à cet édifice...
Les couleurs et la lumière sont splendides !
Je devrais voir bien plus souvent votre galerie, pleine de trésors que je n'ai pas encore découverts...
