Photographer’s Note
This is a landscape shot I got on a recent trip to Mongolia. I arrived by train and then got a taxi to a tourist camp on the banks of the Kherlen River.
The Kherlen river is a river of 1,254 km length in Mongolia and China and its incredibly peaceful around here. Aside from the local wildlife which includes mountin goats, sheep and horses to name but some there is a smattering of nomadic families and nothing else.
An amazing place to visi!

Hello Chris,
I occasionally see your distinctive name throughout this fine gallery, but I can not recall if I have taken the time to critique any of your photos before? Better start now ;). Firstly I will begin with the frame you have decided to use. In this instance it is very effective, it contains the colours well by providing a defined edge and contrasts strongly with the softer hues. The title is professional and informative.
The photo takes in a sweeping view of this attractive landscape, with the river the main emphasis. The patch of riverbank in the lower left hand corner is beautiful and creates a sense of balance. The polarized effect in the sky is both radiant and enduring. Sharpness and clarity is well maintained throughout the entirety of the scene. Some of the clouds come close to overexposure, but none cross the line of harshness which is pleasing. Your note is well written. i will have to pay more attention to your gallery in the future!

TFS Mongolia in this great perspective view, Chris, and it is not often we get to see such nice picturesque aspect of that part of the world.
Very good color contrast and composition, especially lush green meadows. You presented it well here. TFS

Hi Chris
Yes, it is a "big sky" shot, & wonderfully captured, too. Good repetition of the clouds, with superb sharpness & framing. I like the reflected blue skylight in the river. Tfs!
