Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken on our way out to the Tonle Sap. The countryside was beautiful. Unfortunately it's not as sharp and clear as I would have liked, as the buffalo plow was quite a distance from the road, but I thought it was interesting. I think they're sowing rice. Buffalo are ubiquitous throughout Southeast Asia, especially in Cambodia and Vietnam, but we saw a few in northern Thailand also. They're really members of the family and valued workers, carrying out tasks such as plowing and pulling carts to market. I have an interesting example in the photos of Vietnam!
