Photographer’s Note

That is a different view of the Qutub Minar which I tried to capture standing right below it and looking straight upwards, with this being the tallest brick minaret in the world, and an important example of Indo-Islamic Architecture.

The tower is in the Qutb complex in South Delhi, India is one of the most widely known architecture after The Taj Mahal from India was built by Qutub Ud Din Aibak beside the mosque which he build on the remains of 27 Hindu Temples by some Hindu architect, which is believed to have been build by Prithviraj Chauhan sometime earlier for his beloved wife for her to get a great view of the river Yamuna and was finished respectively by his son-in-law Iltutmish and later by Firoz Shah Tughlaq 1210 Ad.

Statistically,it is 72 metres in height, the lower portion is like a ring where diameter is 14 metres and it gets narrower with height which is about 3 metres at the end.It had a 4 metres high tower, but that fell in 1803 earthquake, which was tried to put back by an English architect, but later it was removed by then Governor General which can be found at the garden below.Inside it there is a 376 step revolving staircase which can lead you upto the top,but you have to be careful as recently there was some news of some mishap at that height!
