Photographer’s Note
First, the caption of this photo or the series I'll be doing. I thought about naming the series Oh! Calcutta long before my visit to India. But once I was in Kolkata I've found out that there is a restaurant of the same name, a good one too!!
During my recent visit, I visited my beloved city almost everyday and best part of my visit to the city was taking the ferry from Howrah railway station to the city. I have tried to capture different mood and moment around the ferry terminal and the people around that area.
So, here is the first one.

the reflection of the sun and details are great. the new bridge looks dreamy in the background. you could have cropped out the shadowy boat on the left

Hi Pranab,
The low sun creates a lovelyt path across the water between the boats. I'm looking forward to this series about your visit home.
Wishing you and family health, love & Joy in the coming year, Pat

Hello Pranab, and happy new year. Good to see you are back after an absence.
I'm looking forward to more shots of Calcutta; I went there for a few days 30 years ago, and won't ever forget it. Especially a taxi driver warning us not to get out of the car or even wind down a window when we got to the Howrah side of the bridge over the river. I wonder if things have changed. The Calcutta side I liked very much once I got used to the lines of beggars on the footpath.
Anyway, the shot is very atmospheric and evocative of the place. Great hazy sunset shot with very subtle, gentle colour tones. Rather than crop out the boat as one comment suggested, I'd probably try to resurrect a bit more detail in it.
I love the title, by the way.
Regards and best wishes for 2008,
Andrew\
PS I see there is some tension between India and Australia over CRICKET!

Namaste Pranab
I like the rippled sheen effect, of the reflection, in the Hoogley River. A superb sunset, with realistic color. Tfs!

Hello Pranab,
A moody sunset moment, and the haze creates a special atmosphere!
And I'll give you another association to the title, namely the musical in London Westend 30 years ago...
The reflection of the sun is the beauty of this scenery!
Greetings,
Pablo -
