This picture was taken during the flower picking festival of Otori shrine. During this festival which dates back to the Heian period flower gathering women (this picture) visit the shrine.

Great contrast of colours, Very good

Avoid bright sunlight! Also, DOF is too shallow.

Sorry, but I disagree about the DOF being too shallow. The subjects are on the same plane, and to my eye there's nothing that needs to be shown as "deep." Maybe I didn't understand the comment.

I like the contrast between the brightness and shadows.
