2nd version: the first one was blured
La Rochelle is a charming little town on the atlantic coast of France. It is well known for the towers at the entrance of the old harbour "Les Tours de La Rochelle". And painters love to come and paint it because it also has a special luminosity.
In La Rochelle, the light house is not at the end of a pier but in the city.
In a previous life, I was so lucky to live there. That day, this view grabbed me. I waited a few minutes until the sun shined on the boat on the foreground. I think the light on the first boat makes such a difference to the whole image, compared to my other shots a few minutes before. |

Hello Estelle.
I recognised this scene immediately, from the yachts and the lighthouse. What a wonderful city is La Rochelle. I would like to live there. I was there and took some shots in June, but could not stay long enough. This one has a very nice light and colour, and the lighthouse looks superb. I like the composition with the yacht on the left reflecting the sunlight, and the lighthouse just off the centre. Lovely sky and reflection. A very nice picture of the old harbour.

This is a very good composition. The subject is perfectly placed as is it's reflection in the foreground. Nice colors and beautiful sky in the background. I might have wanted a tiny bit less light on the foreground boat. That large field of white can draw a lot of attention.
