Pompeii and Vesuvius

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hello folks.
More photos from Pompeii. This one shows a general view from the Forum. The Forum was a public space in the middle of a Roman city. The mountain seen far away is the deadly volcano mount Vesuvius. To the left there are some remains of a temple (but I don’t know out which).
In the WS there is an internal photo of a wall painting that hasn’t been destroyed.
To be continued…..
PP-work done:
Increased contrast
Resized
Sharpened

I wish you all a Happy New Year 2008

Hej Per,
This is place we´ve decided we have to see, rather sooner than later... So many fine motives for a photographer. This is a good composition with the impressive pillars.
Hälsningar och god fortsättning!
Gunnar
Oh, wow, Per!!
The light and detail in this is incredible. The clarity and colors are wonderful and you have composed it beautifully with those pillars to the left. Great sky, too. This is an outstanding shot!! Many thanks and best wishes for the New Year!

Hej Per,
The fine point of view adds dynamics to composition!
Fine lines and a good feeling of depth, the nice light results in natural colours and sharp details...
A well balanced composition!
Greetings,

Hello Per,
The great German physicist Werner Heisenberg once wrote, "You should never underestimate how much pleasure it gives a man to see what he already knows." That is one reason the photograph appeals to me, I've seen the view several times. But more than that, it is a very well composed image — The columns are just in the right place, the sky is threatening, and the great Vesuvius is hiding behind the ominous looking clouds. Finally, the diagonal structure formed by the clouds is an effective compositional element.
Warm regards to Sweden (from Virginia, USA).
