Chateau de Chenonceau
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Castle called "chateau des dames". 16th century.
King henry II gave it to his "favorite", Diane de poitiers, but after the king's death, in 1559, the royal widow, Catherine de médici, forced Diane to give up Chenonceau in exchange for Chaumont-sur-Loire. This castle is built over the river Cher, an important river by its traffic in le pays de la Loire, it is not just a little crayfish brook, and thanks to this bridge, it has not been destroyed during the french revolution and during the german invasion. Merci.
I found it extremely difficult to photograph a castle, specially those castles with lots of towers and pointed roofs. Any suggestion, anybody? |

Just like twins... I think you were standing at the same spot as Daniele aka CoolDan did. Look at her picture.
Nice picture Langaloo, but Chenonceau (without an "X") is the spelling given at the name of the castle itself. The real name of the location is Chenonceaux (with "X") and must be situated in region: Centre, not Pays-de-la-Loire.
Could you please make the changes? Thank you.
Amicalement - Viviane
