Hello Bulent,
What a triumphant photo. The child is portrayed in your photo in a mood of awe and wonderment. The lighting around the picture and boy is sensational. I also like the surrounding frame (not only of the photo, but look at that picture frame! It makes the ones I buy from the film shop look rather humble).
There may be a little grain holding the best clarity back, but this was probably a large zoom photo and the artificial lighting could not help you much! Well managed and seen! One day left of 2007! Take care and enjoy the festivities!

Hello Bulent. Art. Which for an interesting topic. Here it is "large" art, which the small man admires. How it seems, it wants to see all details exact. A beautiful and worth seeing shot. Photographically well realizes. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Happy New Year 2008, Bulent.
This photo is a good report of the situation, the kid 's attitude had to be fixed on the memory card of you Nik....
Good choice, there is a dialog between this one in life and in the painting (the red kid) and an idea of a mirror exam.
Proportions in the composition have of course a great interest and this small subject in the wide galery is one another attraction of the picture.
I like it, this is a good and spontaneous shot.
Again an happy new year to you and your family.

Hello Bulent,
very creative and the paintings are terrific. The boy is adorable too, as he, alone is stepping inside the paintings and experiencing various imaginative scenarios. You point of view is very good as it enhances the boy's ecstasy and wonder in admiring great masterpieces, all in simply stunning light.
Hope the new year will bring you and your family joy, happiness and a lot of success.
Warm Rgards.

Congratulations for your new camera it's a very good one especially for lights management.
The result is very good for this original scene in a muesum.

Bulent - often think that Art Galleries and Museums in the West miss out of a bit of extra earnings by allowing photography in the slow and deliberate manner by charging. I visited the Hermitage in St Petersburgh earlier this year and for a small fee you could purchase a photography permit which allowed you to take pictures at your leisure (withour flash or tripods for preservation reasons)
Good composition in the circumstances.

yes I know Bulent you may no flash into the museum.
when it was sharp it had been your best shot til now. But 1600 iso, for myself I never try it out before. it is a good one. The composition is great, the little boy looking to the big masters of painting, looking to his grand, grand, grand parents. well I like it a lot. fantastic capture and ofcoarse a good note. Thank you Bulent for your friendship last year. May you with your family have a good years ending and have a good 2008.

I don't think the reduction in quality from your settings is too detrimental to this wonderful image. It's never too early to introduce children to good art and as your image shows they can appreciate it at their own level. He was probably fascinated by the children in the painting. Well done for spotting the photo op.
Have you entered the exposure details correctly? f18 and 1/1600sec seems astonishing for an interior shot.
Happy New Year to you and your family too.

hello Bulent
interesting is this photo of that child looking to this massive painting, i like the square format and the attractive colours,
the fact that it is a tiny 3 y-o boy accentuate the contrast of size
indeed the quality is not the best, i've already done the same mistake but my lower size is even smaller (650x480pix!), i was disappointed as i've done a lot of photos with that setting while i was living a magic moment (sunset on Skagen beaches in north of Denmark)
however it's enough to appreciate it on a screen ;)
best wishes

Ciao Bulent,
stupendous photo. Apart the good composition and the good management of the light, what more I like of your photo it is the sensation that I have tried when I have seen it: the small man in front of the great art. For me it is an important thing, because the art, that true, goes over the power, the money and the temporary greatness of the men. Often, when I admire a work of art I feel me as this child of the photo: small and humble in front of the beautiful things that last forever. Thank you for having posted this beautiful image.
Best regards

Hi Bulent,
I’m glad to see that here on Rhodes Island they have learned my lesson 9: Start at young age already at looking to art, or introduce your kids at young age to art.
Maybe we should tell the little boy that he can see better if he takes some distance : -)

Hello Bülent,
This one of those photos that is so well composed and captures such a magic moment that one doesn't care much for the lack of technical quality. The bigger painting really stands out and we are spontaneously attracted to share the awe of the boy. I bet he makes his grandfather very proud, by showing that fascination for Art so early.
Considering the adverse circumstances and your distraction, it is remarkably well.
As soon as I saw this photo, I reminded the fascination of my son with the Mona Lisa in the Louvre when he was 8 years old. Curiously, he wasn't the only child excited with the vision and for the joy of all those young Art lovers, they were allowed to pass the barrier that keeps the visitors a few meters away from the painting.
Regards, José.
I wish a Happy New Year to you and your family!

Hello, Bulent -
Well, as you say, the quality is not what I have come to expect from you, but as a moment capture it is quite charming. Ofcourse, the contrast between the size of the painting and the size of the boy adds an extra element to the child's wonderment. And I see from the discussions that the boy is, as I thought, your grandson.
I see you got a D200 rather than the D80. How do you like it overall? And congratulations on getting the book done!

Hello Batalay,
i think that some times it's better to 'catch' a rare snapshot against the quality, than out of nothing.I think that the scene is very nice with the lilliputian young connoisseur to watching this huge painting. The most important with this shot, with my opinion, is the way of the readiness for the capture.Excellent.
Have a happy New Year,Danos
PS By the way, why are you set on the camera so small file size, under these difficult lighting conditions that exist in the Museums?
Hi Bulent, my dear friend and Happy New Year! I wish good health, happiness and neverending creativity to you and all your loved ones!
This is a fantastic picture, like a painting and I feel that much of its power lies exactly on what you call "less than stellar quality"! I think that with a perfect definition this photo would be less interesting. The work of art has nothing to do with perfection in my humble opinion. Your photo raises one more cuestion about art. I wonder how does a child perceive the work of art, with its innocent eyes and without the "burden" of knowledge? How far from the aproach of an elder man is its "look"? To get the question a bit further, should we aproach a work of art only through our senses (heart) or through our thoughts and spirit (brain)?
Anyway, this is a wonderful photo, that kept my eye (and my heart, and my brain) pleasantly "troubled" for some time. Congratulations!
Warm regards,
Hercules

Hi Bulent,
Wjat could I say that others didn't say already? It is an amazing photo. I love the way the boy is looking at the painting with such a concentration. I have read it is your grandson. He starts to be an art conoisseur quite early. My son has birthday also 30 Dec.
Best wishes for a happy new year for you and your family, especially for this young conoisseur.

Dear Bulent,
Picture is charming....and there is no need for apologies - this decisive moment compensates the luck of crispiness or sharpness :)
Happy New Year!

Hello Bulent,
Majestic and cute image at the same time. The little boy facing this great painting, it seems a kind of allegory, in my "point of view" ;-)
Like this boy, we are facing the future, represented by the starting New Year.
I hope it will be full of love, serenity and affection, like this family image on the painting.
For all of us.
Thanks for sharing this artistic moment.

Quality issues aside (which are not too terrible, just a little grain) this is an excellent photo. Considering the lighting in museums, it's a wonder you didn't have a complete unworkable photo, that was blurry.
This photo works wonderfully, with the sheer size of the painting fascinating the little boy. The colours are very pleasing, as I like the blues and the reds. A great timely shot, and one that was definitely worthwhile. Happy New Year Bulent.

David

The painted children, larger than life size are impressive and the child has not understood that he should take a few steps back - a funny photo, I'd love to go back to the states just to see some more of the fantastic museums there !
Your photo is very elegant and again, I love the rich colours and the presentation !
Ellinize saglik,
Cath.

Hello Bulent Bey,
Superb catch, wonderful colors. The details are wonderful, but the focal point for me is the difference in the sizes of the boy and the painting.
I wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year with all the ones you love.
Best regards. Salvator.

Bonsoir Bulent,
Excellente année 2008 pleine de nouvelles oeuvres aussi intéressantes ! J'aime beaucoup l'attitude du gamin devant cette oeuvre qui semble, d'ailleurs, sortir du lot. Bien vu et bien fait !

Hello Bulent,
And congratulations on this great picture. You are mentioning the problems, but nevertheless the result is so good. The little boy looks as if he jumped out of the big frame. You are also mentioning the D200 ( I just sold one on D200 and bought a D300 ) we'll see if my pictures get better..
I also wish you a very very good NEW YEAR and hope to finally meet you personally

This is such a magnificent photo.
the title itself could represent a perfect theme for a painting, just like the ones hanging on that wall.

Hello Bulent,
The paintings are huge by any dimension. The child look tiny and at the same time lost in the paintings. Good perspective to capture this interesting moment. Is hard to imagine that many objects of art in display. This must be a huge building. Cheers :-)

Hi Bulent,
COMPLIMENTS!!! This directly goes to my "top 10" of TE images! Wonderful! I like the moment capture, the composition, the way the space is divided in meain colors of the ground and of the wall. The light on the paintings and the red dress of the guy against the blue wall. I would like to have the opportunity to give you 3 pts :) :) :)
Well done!

Olá Bulent, this is such a funny shot that immediately made me smile. For me, situation like this one are the most important thing in photography and also the most dificult to capture imo. No matter what camera we have, since the quality becomes a secundary issue. If we can have both, fine, but if not, I prefer such a scene than a landscape with perfect technical quality. I wonder what the boy is observing from such a closer POV, since the painting is so big. The fact is that a similar boy also with a red pullover is in the scene above him... ;-) A bit to central composition, but still a wonderful situation to apreciate. Very well done.
I wish you all the best for 2008,
ricardo

Warm greetings, Bulent and best wishes for the New Year!
This is a wonderful shot. You do those inside photos so well. I really like that kind of soft quality you have. It is like a painting inside a painting. I like the diagonal line of the white baseboard and the total absorption of the young boy contemplating that great huge work of art. The light is very nice and I enjoy the way the gold in the frames is echoed by the color of the floor. I think you've done a fine job on this. Many thanks and very best wishes.... Fond regards,
Shelly

merhaba,

Hello Bulent,
I had a lot of fun watching this picture. I think this little boy s so adorable watching this huge painting. There is such an expression in his physionomy. I don't think it's admiration, it looks more like he's studying the painting, like he saw the adults do. I love it.
You are right about the quality of the picture, but I don't think it harms the quality of the message. But, I also think it can be enhanced by cropping the top (cropping the white wall). I try a ws for you.
oh, and I like reading your notes!
Take care,
Marc

Hello Professor...
the sharpness aside, much has already been said..think this one is very instinctive and quite different from the previous ones where you had to work out and compose, pull out your equipment etc
There is a definite element of interest and oomph in this...leaves the viewer with a freedom to interpret the situation..
Its the blue texture of the wall that compromises on the sharpness..but not to bother :)
Greetings for the New Year..Its never too late..is it ?
Cheers

Never ending amusement of the museums…
Un-real world of the true beauty, false beauty and a fake beauty…
But then… You have to be quite mature to understand the relation between the price of the frame and the painting itself…
This little fella in there…
He’s the lucky one.
He enjoys the sublimation of the place…
He’s un-spoilt yet to understand the sophistication of the real art and art that looks like an art…
How do I have those shaggy thoughts upon seeing this charming scene in your photo…?
Oh, well… I just spent the last hour surfing TE…
That should be enough of an explanation upon my mood…
(:-)))))))))))))
All the best, professor…
May the 2008 be the one you’ve been waiting for with utmost anticipation
Love and respect

Hi Bulent!
That's really a moment not to be missed! Very good pov, he's so small comparing to the painting and he seems really impressed, maybe it's because of the little boy there, he's dressing in the same colours.
Happy New Year!!!

Amazing perspective. I really liked this pic.
And Happy New Year for you!!! =))
